Yukon Women Work Hard Too!
The Yukon Women work really hard day by day. Now that we have electricity and things that make things easier it's not so hard now. What about back then like in the late 1800's and 1900's?
The women have to be able to use animal hides for clothing. They're multiple steps to getting this done. This is one of the things they have to do everyday. Housekeeping is another thing they must do everyday. In a cabin that has no electricity, no running water, and no nearby grocery store! These are the things they do everyday! Almost like how we go to school everyday, but they don't get breaks like we do. This is constant. Then there were always the long and really cold winters are extreme places of remote communities.
The women never had a problem with their jobs during the day. Mainly because of their love of land. They enjoyed these tasks and couldn't be happier!

Raising the Family
Yukon women don't only have chores to do everyday they also have a family to raise and teach.
The Yukon mothers wore hats for everything. Such as nurse, teacher, barber, chef and tailor. Women who raised their children in the Yukon wilderness had to be on constant alert, you never know what would happen. The curious young toddler could face many things. Examples would be swarms of biting insects, winter temperatures of minus forty degrees, swift, freezing rivers and even encounters with bears. They would never regret having kids. One said,"Having a kid in the Yukon is a joy. Seeing how much they can grow in just a few years."
